The Anderson and VCUarts are pleased to announce Corpus: Selections from the Candela Collection, an exhibition of photographic work by twenty-five artists from the collection of Candela Photographic Arts. The exhibition will be on view at The Anderson from August 28th to October 17th with an opening reception on Friday, August 28th from 5-7 pm.

Opening October 2, 5-8pm: Candela presents its pilot philanthropic open call exhibition, Bingo! All selected artists have graciously given two editions of an image: one is framed by Candela, placed on view for the October Bingo! exhibition, then available to win during our October 24th Small Print Bingo fundraising event. The other print is entered into a random print exchange among the artists in the exhibition.

Artist Talk with Visiting Artist: Alma Haser

Join us for an evening in conversation with UK-based artist Alma Haser in conjunction with her two feature exhibitions, Tired, Warrior, Defeated, In Love, and Four Legs, currently on view at Candela Photographic Arts. Haser will discuss her multidisciplinary practice, recent photographic and sculptural works, and the layered emotional terrain explored throughout the exhibition.

Known for blending photography, sculpture, textiles, and collage, Haser’s work navigates themes of identity, transformation, intimacy, and perception through intricate hand-built processes and deeply personal narratives.
