Candela Photographic Arts is excited to welcome back the Candelar project for 2027! Selected artists receive a copy of the Candelar and a feature on the website for their Candelar month.
ABOUT THE SUBMISSION
Submission opens: Tuesday, September 29, 2026
Submission closes: Monday, October 12, 2026
Accepted works announced: Tuesday, October 27, 2026
ABOUT THE CANDELAR
2027 will mark the third run of the Candelar, a set of 5×7 calendar cards printed in-house by Candela Photographic Arts.
THERE IS NO FEE TO SUBMIT TO THE 2027 CANDELAR OPEN CALL.
We encourage you to submit up to three square images for consideration. There is no theme for the exhibition other than the use of photography.
Submissions should include:
1-3 jpegs for consideration
Artist name and contact information
Artwork title, year, medium, and dimensions
A short artist statement or bio relevant to submitted work
PROJECTED PRODUCTION DATES:
Accepted artists notified: October 23 – 24, 2026
Printing: November 9 – 13, 2026
Pre-Orders fulfilled: Week of November 16
All other orders fulfilled by mid-December
